Got 32,000 AmEx Membership Reward points?
You can book first class on Hawaiian with the new AmEx transfer bonus!
American Express just announced on their FaceBook page a new transfer bonus from AmEx Membership Rewards Points to Hawaiian Miles. Get a 25% bonus when you transfer until June 26th.
If you listen to nothing else I say, then just follow this warning…
**WARNING, DO NOT TRANSFER POINTS FROM AMEX BEFORE YOU CHECK FOR SEAT AVAILABILITY OF THE FLIGHT YOU WANT. IF IT’S NOT THERE, YOU WILL BE STUCK WITH AMEX POINTS IN YOUR HAWAIIAN MILEAGE ACCOUNT.
ALWAYS CHECK SEAT AVAILABILITY FIRST BEFORE TRANSFERS.
Also note: that AmEx MR points usually transfer instantly to Hawaiian Airlines, but there is a $0.0006 per point fee when you transfer your MR points to any of AmEx’s domestic airline transfer partners. transferring 64,000 MR points (a RT award) to Hawaiian, you’ll pay about $38.40 in fees.
You need to look for their aircraft A330 for the new lie-flat seat. The seat map should reflect those seats as shown below.
Normally flights book at the following rates.
- Flights between neighbor islands: 7,500 miles saver economy award 15,000 FC
- North America – Hawaii economy: 20,000 miles saver award
North America – Hawaii first class: 40,000 miles saver award
But with the AmEx bonus you drop that rate by 25%.
HAWAII is a top request and difficult market to get first class for people using miles & points, their new lie flat product looks nice and for 32k MR points from AmEx this is a steal!
