In our opinion the Thai Airways First Class lounge and Royal Orchid Spa at BKK is the BEST lounge we’ve ever been too.  From dine on demand in your own private room to a FULL body oil or Thai massage at no additional charge, you can’t ask for anything better.  Let’s take a look at our FAVORITE airline lounge in the world.

Location

Located on concourse D at BKK airport, this first class lounge is a must.  Upon entry, you are warmly greeted by the staff and are able to book your spa appointment right away.

Let’s take a look around. Spacious and colorful.

Facilities

The space is great!

If you are traveling first or business class on Thai, you have a few options to choose from.

Treatment Menu:
–  Touch of Silk(Full Body Oil Massage – 60 minutes for First Class only)
–  Royal Thai Massage(Full Body Massage – 60 minutes for First Class only)
–  Neck & Shoulder Massage(30 minutes)

–  Foot Massage(30 minutes)

After checking into the first class lounge we were asked when we would like to book our 60 minute treatment.  We said, “right away?!” “NO PROBLEM!” was the answer we got.  We were then taken right across the hallway to the Royal Orchid Spa.

We booked the Royal Thai and the Touch of Silk massage.  Once inside, we were taken to a waiting area.

We then were given a welcome tea drink with cold towels.

After about 5 minutes we were taken to our treatment room!

Each private massage room had a separate shower, toilet, changing area, soaking tub and vanity. The shower room was well stocked with everything you need from combs and brushes to toothbrushes and razors. And of course, the wonderful L’Occitane products!

After our massage we cleaned up and were taken back to a waiting room with snacks and food.

We left a tip and then headed back to the first class lounge.

On our second stop to the spa Mitch opted for the business class option of Head and Shoulders massage.

Layout and dining

Once back to the first class lounge, first thing we did was grab a wifi code.

We were then escorted to our own private room area!

We were asked what we’d like to eat and brought an iPad to order from.

We ordered from a wide selection of favorite Thai dishes from Pad Thai to Moo Ping (Grilled Pork Skewers) with Sticky Rice.

We then took a quick trip around the lounge to check out the buffet options.

If you prefer to eat in the dining area, they provide that.  However, if it’s just the two of you, the private room is a much better option.

Before boarding, we wanted to freshen up.  We took another quick shower. The shower facility was spacious, clean and the staff were again, attentive.

Service

The service in the lounge was on point!  Not once did we have to wave someone down. The staff was thoughtful and anticipating all of our needs. They kept us informed of our departure and boarding time and asked when we would like to board the aircraft. Once we decided to board, we were escorted to the departure gate and whisk to the front of the line then to our seats. Now that’s true first class service.

Overall thoughts?

From the moment we checked into the dedicated check in area at Suvarnabhumi Airport, we were impressed. The buggy service to the lounge to the attentiveness of the staff truly sets Thai Airways Royal First Class Lounge apart. As for the Spa Facility, it’s no wonder why Thai won “World’s Best Airline Lounge Spa Facility” year after year. The massage rooms are spacious, clean and reflects one of the world’s top spa experience. The generous treatment options for first class customers also sets Thai Airways apart from it’s competitors.
