Hotel Review: Le Méridien Suvarnabhumi, Bangkok Golf Resort & Spa in Bangkok

img_3852Most times when traveling from the U.S. to Phuket, it’s hard to get there all in one segment.  We tend to run into this problem often.

With our flights on JAL in First and Business to BKK we arrived around 11pm.  There are no connecting flights to Phuket after our arrival so a stop over is required.  Hence our wonderful stay at the Le Meridien Suvarnabhumi.

Before leaving L.A., we thought long and hard about our quick night in Bangkok. Because of the timing of our flights, we had to stay overnight in BKK.  Honestly, after our business class flight on JAL, a quick night in BKK was a welcome event.   However, the question was, ‘Did we want to tow our bags and a tired friend in town for 8 hours?’ The answer was a hard ‘No!’  Luckily, we researched around the Samut Prakan/ Suvarnabhumi Airport area and found this SPG gem. The Le Méridien Suvarnabhumi located just 13 kilometers and a few minutes south of the airport.  It’s also a World Class Golf Resort and Spa.  Get 15% off their rates by clicking here.

Checking in at mid-night, when it’s really 10am in your time zone is hard, however, the lobby was beautiful.  Check-in was a breeze and the hotel kindly upgraded us to a Grande Club room.

The staff was quick to help us with our bags to our room.

Greeting me was a welcome letter outlining some of the key features of the property.

Taking a look around at the room, it was very spacious with a sitting area, large patio area and an open concept bathroom!

Because we arrived at the hotel after midnight, all of the restaurants and bars were closed. No fear, 24 hour room service with delicious Thai dishes came to the rescue! I ordered a Grilled Beef Salad, Mango and Sticky Rice and I was not disappointed.

After getting only a few hours of sleep, I got up and went for a run. Because it was still dark, I opted for the gym. The facility is well-equipped with state of the art equipment and over looking the golf course, my run was a breeze.

The view at sunrise was beautiful, however, this pic isn’t the best.

With only 8 hours at the hotel, there wasn’t much time to really do anything, however, their spa prices are very competitive.

We skipped breakfast, however, they have a beautiful coffee bar for grab and go.

After a quick night stay, our van was ready to pick us up and head back to BKK.

Overall thoughts?

The Le Meridien Suvarnabhumi, Bangkok Resort and Spa is a beautiful property.  First, the location to the airport is perfect.  Not too far and not right under the flight path.  It has a BEAUTIFUL golf course with very clean and modern rooms.  This will be my new go to hotel for one night stays that require me to be near BKK airport.  Being a SPG property with good rates and great features it’s a no brainer.
