One of our 10 commandments for flying is to:
“KNOW YOUR AIRCRAFT PRODUCT”
A business class seat for one airline on a 747 might differ from a business class seat on an A380. Knowing your airline aircraft and products makes a HUGE difference!
A great example of knowing your aircraft product is Thai Airways. They have many different first class and business class seats on their aircraft.
What seat and aircraft you fly could make all the difference in the world!
How do you know which plane flies on what route? What aircraft do airlines have? All AV Geeks already know about this site but for those of you that don’t, this can be pretty exciting!
Click on over to Flight Radar 24.
You can click on each individual airline to see what type of aircraft they have, where the plane is and track it live!
This is a great site for “watching” airline aircraft, where they fly, seeing flight time and more!
We are currently using this site to monitor our flights this fall on Thai Airways. We are scheduled to be on their 747 and A380.
As you can see from the aircraft listed for Thai Airways, they currently have 6 A380’s and 11 of the 747-400.
Here’s where it gets a bit tricky with Thai Airways, half of their 747 fleet has the old 747 first class seat and the other half have the new suite seat. Seems Thai rotates their 747 on different routes, so which one we get will be pure luck!
(You can click on each tail number below to see the link to that aircraft)

Looks like the Thai 747 Star Alliance plane, HS-TGW has the old first class seats!
Bottom line is Flight Radar 24 is a great source to learn about airline aircraft, what route they fly and more! It’s super easy. Just click on http://www.flightradar24.com then at the top click on the menu link data/history then click on airline fleet. You’ll be spending tons of hours just looking at all the different airline planes!
