Oh Bangkok Airways how I love you!
We’ve flown many times on Bangkok Airways over the years. This is a trip report of our recent flight from BKK – REP on Bangkok Airways. Kap kun kap!
Bangkok Airways flight PG905
BKK – REP
Wednesday, 27 January 2016
Flight Time: 35 minutes
Seats: 10D and 10F
When traveling inner Thailand, there are several airlines from which to choose. One of our favorites, Bangkok Airways, Asia’s Boutique Airline! I mean come on, they have my current FAVORITE airline commercial!
Bangkok Airways has a pretty basic route system that can get you anywhere in Southeast Asia with 3 different aircraft type, the A319 A320 and the ATR Turboprop.
Tickets on Bangkok Airways are cheap! You can usually get a round trip to any of the beach cities for around $40 each way! Much cheaper to go confirmed than standby staff travel!
On today’s trip, check in at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi is at the F stack of check-in counters.
Check-in was easy! They also allow you to check up to 20kg (44lbs) of baggage for free! After we checked in, we were off to the lounge! One of the great perks of Bangkok Airways is they have a FREE domestic and international lounge for ALL passengers! That’s right, ALL passengers!
In my opinion, for a domestic airline to offer a free lounge to all passengers is a great incentive. The lounge isn’t bad. It’s a basic lounge with power, free snacks and Mitch’s favorite “orange” juice!
Kao Tom Mud Thai banana sticky rice dessert
About 40 minutes until departure we head to the gate to board the bus to our flight! Many of the Bangkok Airways flights operate from remote gates, so a bus ride is required!
Once we arrive at the plane we head up the stairs to board the plane!
We are greeted by the FRIENDLY, fun, beautiful and VERY young cabin crew!
You can take a virtual tour of the plane by clicking on the picture below.
Once we settle in, we are offered a refreshing towel.
Once everyone is settled, they close the door and the safety video starts!!!
Once the wheels come up, the crew starts right away with the meal service for this 35 minute flight. Yes! 35 minute flight with a meal service. You can even pre-order meals! Mitch ordered the low sodium chicken and I had the seafood.
The crew then walked through with “Orange” juice, water and tea/coffee.
Bangkok Airways “orange” juice, aka Tang!
Decent started soon after and tray pickup was fast! For a 35 minute flight, things moved fast!
